Aromatic Environmental Mists
Making an aromatic mist for your home is as simple as mixing distilled water with your favorite essential oil. I suggest you use a dark glass bottle to protect the oils from light, and to store your mists either in the fridge or in a cool, dark place. (No worry: You'll likely use them up before they've had a chance to go stale!) Mix 2-3 parts essential oil to 7-8 parts, or percentage, distilled water, shaking gently before use. (Most professional blends are 6 - 10% essential oils; I typically blend my environmental sprays at Essential Blends with up to 25% oils, sometimes using one oil, or one "note," but typically blending a multitude of essential oils to achieve that perfect scent. As you learn more about essential oils, experiment with two or three favorite oils for a more complex mist. If you choose to purchase your aromatic sprays, make sure you're getting therapeutic grade, organic if possible, and certainly not mists made with synthetics or chemicals.)
