Room Full of Scent
Whether you've chosen to make your own or purchase a therapeutic essential oil mist, there are multiple ways to stretch its aromatherapeutic benefits throughout your home. Although I don't warrant using dead flowers in home décor (calling them "dried" or potpourri doesn't make it any fancier!), I take exception with lavender bunches and a rosemary topiary sourced from organic farms. So I refresh them monthly with a hydrosol-based misting of the original. Lavender mist is also perfect for the linen closet, Rosemary for pantries. Mist the garbage can with Peppermint for both scentual as well as anti-bacterial results. Spray closets with Cedarwood and Lavender to not only freshen stale air, but ward off moths and other unwanted critters. And before bedtime, spritz pillows and sheets with Lavender or Sweet Orange for a scent-filled night's sleep. Even better, use your aromatic mist as a gentle facial or body mist throughout the day. Or, if you'd rather not apply directly, spray a handkerchief or tissue and tuck it away in your pocket or purse for added scent.
