Paisley Power
I have a penchant for all things paisley, which enlivens any décor. I like its charming shape and if you're lucky, as I've been, you can find even new paisleys that offer an Old World charm to any design era (even if you're a die-hard modernista). I have a delicate bronze paisley glass lamp from Pottery Barn that casts little useful working light, but a warm glow nonetheless, and a hand-made red paisley rug from Ballard Designs that like that lamp, is purely for show. And I had to have that cream-on-cream paisley silk throw from West Elm (which affords little warmth except visually) ... I'm a sucker for the pattern, which makes anyone a decorista with just one purchase. And even if it's a simple black-and-white paisley, as my guest bath shower curtain above, it's simply magical ... and in this case, keeps my gray bath from appearing too cold. Easy (and elegant) update!
