Trendsetter
It should come as no shock that I have a penchant for apothecary jars, what with the name of my blog and all. They are also my code for decorating as the perfect go-to accessory for any home décor style; they also offer a nod to my passion for aromatherapy, which grew out of European apothecary shops. And I must confess I have a bit of a collection. You can do so much with them...just look in any home magazine and you'll find cool new ways to decorate, no fail.
And like the Pantone Color of the Year or animal print, they are often cited as the "hottest trend," just one that seems to never go out of style. Or at least according to my favourite decorating magazines, including Canada's Style At Home. (Glad to know my house isn't completely out of vogue, much less my blog.) And there are some pretty hip takes on the traditional. There's the fancy ones from West Elm (admittedly, I have a set in a lovely light Spring Green purchased ages ago). And I love WE's clear set, above, next on my Wish List. But I also love the simple selections from local home decor stores. Like shoes, one can never have too many. Now where to put that new jar ...
