Hydrosols
Scrambling to prepare yourself for vacation travel? When I travel for short or long stays both, I always have aromatherapy to ease what will be a travel weary soul for sure. Just like a packed suitcase, I keep several blends on hand. And I never travel without a couple of hydrosols to freshen stale hotel air and mist commercially laundered sheets. Hydrosols are the easiest way to enjoy essential oils in a pure form for misting face, body, and space. Hydrosols are the plant and flower waters that result during the distillation process. During distillation, the steam containing the oils is chilled, turning into water; the essential oil floats to the top of the container, where it is captured and bottled. The distilled water, or hydrosol, contains tiny molecules of the essential oil, as well as all the unique, water soluble elements of the plant. It also offers a similar aroma you'd experience from its essential oil. They're like a "lite" version, both in aroma and aromatic properties. But be sure to purchase hydrosols from a reputable source (I have some listed on this blog page). I'll be packing Lavender for the sheets, Rose Geranium for my face, and Sandalwood for my mood!
